You know the guilt that comes with complaining, feeling sad, angry, disappointed, and all the negativity towards life amidst its blessings. This song is precious because while acknowledging the beauties of life, it isn’t afraid to articulate in all honesty what we want to say sometimes: “My life is a blessing but it comes with the stresses.” With the gospel sound in the chorus, Simz shows her thanks but simultaneously allows herself and us to feel what we are feeling. Relief comes with accepting the feelings that are only human.
