I have noticed that my posts tend to be unremittingly dour. This is most likely because I lost my sense of humour in an ill-advised card game with Vanessa Phelps, but that’s a story for another time. Still attempts must be made, so I will dredge my mind, nay my very soul, for an iota of wit for you. Failing that there’s a list of some of the things that are making me laugh.

-John Prescott, ever the redoubtable warrior for British morality, has told the story of his battle with Bulimia. I salute the man for his candour and courageous attempts to make a horrible disease even more grotesque by attaching himself as the poster boy. I hope that he will bring his particular flair for dealing with the public to a cause blighted by media starlets and teenage girls.

-After the Treasury Teacake debacle we mention in this week’s podcast, I’ve been vigilant for similar stories about such important issues. Sadly confection related stories were thin on the ground. Instead I had to make do with the news that Whitehall Mandarins (senior civil servants, not the healthy option on the Whitehall tea trolley) are receiving publicly funded classes in dressing and style. But there is nothing ridiculous about our un-elected officials being taught how to groom themselves with taxpayers’ money, is there?

-Students have been warned to stay clear of the British Library, if they know what’s good for them. No less a figure than Christopher ‘the Hangman’ Hawtree is angry that he couldn’t pose in comfort, but was relegated to a windowsill. Him and his crew of Antonia ‘Fuck-you-up’ Fraser, Claire ‘the Trasher’ and Tristram ‘the k’Hunt are out to get you.

Somethings-Stuff that is not news
The excellent Webcomic that updates daily, Devil’s Panties, cannot be recommended highly enough. Be aware the archives will take a week to get through.

The Happy Tree Friends: Subversive fun or childish sadism? Um… I’m thinking a little of column A, a little of Column B.

With GTA 4 on it way, here is the best article I could find.

A shameless plug for our good friends and bitter rivals the Cassie and Kate show. Seriously funny stuff, which is why Joe keeps stealing their content.

And because we can’t berate you for not Voting if we don’t give you info, here’s the massively informative website for the upcoming elections. Remember every vote for Boris results in a seal baby being clubbed.
