The Matthew Rimmer Show - Show 3.15 – Ashes to Ashes: 1981 Special

| | Comments (0)

"My name is Matthew Rimmer. I had an accident and I woke up in 1981. Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time? Whatever's happened, it's like I've landed on a different planet. Now maybe if I can work out the reason, I can get home."

Join me in 1981, a year of Duran Duran, Margaret Thatcher, Charles and Diana, Ken and Diedre and Bucks Fizz...

Show 3.15, first broadcast live on Thursday 7th February 2008, includes 1981 Soap Round-up, 1981 Entertainment News, Rants and Raves and Soap Round-Up.

Back in 2008...

Down the road some time the same day, it seems Ian Smith - who plays Harold Bishop on Neighbours - had accosted Trafalgar Square with a huge brass band to play the Neighbours Theme Tune to promote Neighbours moving from BBC One to Five on Monday 11th February 2008. I found this on YouTube (video by paperbackwriter72):

Or for a clearer view go here (video by Raphael Clairefond of Digital Spy).

To see the Neighbours cast get over-excited about their move to Five watch this trailer:

And to hear Rare FM's interview with Karl Kennedy actor Alan Fletcher from October 2006 conducted by Adam Freedman, Natalie Dokarry and myself go here.
