Animal Collective - Brother Sport
Animal Collective favourite 'Brother Sport' is finally getting the single treatment. This feel-good tune, which sounds as much like an African tribal song as a noise-pop offering, may well bring them even more hype. Written to help out lead singer Panda Bear’s brother through “hard times”, live Collective fans will have heard 'Brother Sport' do wonders as a set closer for the last few years and, while the length – at just over six minutes – could be seen as a radio-unfriendly drawback, I prefer to think of it as more precious seconds to enjoy a very decent fraternal love-in.
Released 9th November 2009 on Domino Records
