Camille – Tank Is On Empty (Album Sampler)
Camille – Tank Is On Empty (Album Sampler)
Released: 25th February 2008
Record label: Dejamus, (distributed by Cadiz Music)
Given to me as I walked into Rare FM’s Music Meeting, Camille
Purcell’s R&B sound is not my usual cup of tea. Not that I drink tea. Or
coffee, for that matter. U Ain’t Getting
Me would clearly get R&B fans on the dance floor, whilst Tank Is On Empty, although repetitive,
does demonstrate Camille has a good voice. Stay
is dull and unoriginal. I’ve heard enough R&B to know this does not stand
out. The lyrics are predictable and uninspired. U Got Me, presumably in contrast to the earlier track U Ain’t Getting Me, is reminiscent of
Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River
just with a woman singing. It’s certainly better than Stay but it hard to identify anything unique about Camille. She
sounds so much like many other R&B singers that there is really little to
recommend her on.
